Luxfords required a cost-effective and hard-wearing industrial floor coating for their newly refurbished facility in Weybridge, Surrey. The existing 900 m² concrete floor showed general wear and tear along with surface soiling, so the floor needed to be sealed, improved in appearance and made easier to maintain. Background
Luxfords needed an industrial floor that would support the practical demands of a busy refurbished facility while also helping to organise storage more effectively. The existing concrete was fundamentally serviceable, but the visible wear and surface contamination meant it no longer offered the clean, professional finish the client wanted.
A key part of the brief was the installation of an extensive permanent grid for the storage of removal crates. This meant the new industrial floor needed to do more than simply protect the concrete. It also had to improve layout clarity and help staff manage the space more efficiently on a day-to-day basis.

The Solution

Dust free shot-blasting was used to provide a light physical key to the concrete floor. This preparation method cleaned the substrate and created the correct profile for strong adhesion of the new coating system. - Britdura 500 solvent free epoxy floor coating
Luxfords selected Elgood Industrial Flooring’s Britdura 500 solvent free epoxy floor coating. This system is applied by trowel to a thickness of approximately 500 microns, creating a durable and practical sealed finish for industrial use. - Light Grey floor finish with yellow grid
The main floor was finished in Light Grey, helping to brighten the facility and provide a cleaner, more professional appearance. A permanent yellow grid was incorporated into the layout to define storage positions clearly for removal crates and improve organisation across the site. - Fine slip resistant surface
The coating was finished with a fine slip resistant texture, making it safer underfoot while still allowing easy routine cleaning using scrubber dryer machines.
All works were completed by Elgood Industrial Flooring’s own in-house installation team, ensuring consistent workmanship and a single point of responsibility from preparation through to final finishing.
