ARNOLD WRAGG, SHEFFIELD

Condition of Floors: a new power floated concrete

The preparation and installation were completed to schedule in four days by Elgood Industrial Flooring Ltd.

Arnold Wragg selected the Britdura 750 Highbuild Solvent Free Epoxy Floor Coating.

Facts & Figures
  • Completion date: October 2004
  • Size of floor: 1,300 sqm
  • Product: Britdura 750
Needs
To Arnold Wragg it was important that they had confidence in the specified coating meeting firstly their performance demands and secondly to be within their budget. The floor coating was to be suitably hard wearing to withstand their manufacturing use and fork lift traffic. Additionally, the coating was to provide a good standard of appearance and a sealed surface that would be relatively easy to clean and maintain.

The Highbuild Coating is comprised of a low viscosity Solvent Free Epoxy primer and two coloured coats of our Britdura Solvent Free Epoxy Floor Coating. All three coats were applied by trowel.

The low viscosity primer is ideal for use on new concrete due to its moisture resistant properties but is equally effective for treating an old and worn concrete.

Elgood Ltd were the last of a selection of competitors to tender for the contract. From the initial contact and sending of a provisional price and colour samples, the floor was visited, the price confirmed and installed within three weeks ready for Arnold Wragg Ltd.

Arnold Wragg were particularly concerned with having the joints smoothed over to avoid lips between the slabs that could become exposed under frequent fork lift traffic. These were attended to using our Epoxy mortar.

Preparation
Shotblasting was used to provide a light physical key with diamond grinding used to prepare the edges along walls.
Floor
The Britdura 750 Highbuild Epoxy Floor Coating was laid in the colour Light Grey with a fine slip resistant finish.
