Introduction
Venus PLC required a cost-effective and hard-wearing industrial floor coating for its retail environment in Tottenham, London. The existing 5,500 m² concrete floor was showing signs of wear and tear, with surface soiling, minor damage and untidy sunk joints, so it needed thorough preparation and remedial work before a new epoxy floor coating could be installed.
Elgood Industrial Flooring was appointed to project manage the full preparation and installation process. The works included vacuum contained shotblasting, diamond grinding, scabbling and the installation of Britdura 750 Highbuild Solvent Free Epoxy Floor Coating in Slate Grey, with Yellow bays for pallets and Red boxes for fire exits.
The complete industrial floor project was delivered in a fast fifteen-day programme, including all preparation and remedial work, so the floor was ready ahead of the installation of racking.
Background
Venus PLC needed an industrial floor that would improve the presentation of its retail environment while also providing a practical and durable surface for routine use. The floor needed to be hard-wearing, cost-effective and suitable for regular cleaning with a scrubber dryer machine.
Flexibility was essential. Work had to commence within a week of the order being placed, and the completed floor needed to be ready for the next stage of the project, including the installation of racking. This required careful project management, fast mobilisation and a flooring system suitable for a large 5,500 m² area.

The Solution

Britdura 750 Highbuild Solvent Free Epoxy Floor Coating
Venus PLC selected Elgood Industrial Flooring’s Britdura 750 Highbuild Solvent Free Epoxy Floor Coating. The system was chosen for Elgood’s trowel application technique and competitive price.
The coating was installed to a total thickness of approximately 750 microns to 1 millimetre, creating a durable, sealed and practical industrial floor finish suitable for a busy retail environment.
Slate Grey floor finish with pallet bays and fire exit markings
The main industrial floor was finished in Slate Grey to provide a clean and professional appearance. Yellow bays were installed for pallets, while Red boxes were used to mark fire exits, helping define important operational areas clearly across the floor.
Fine slip resistant finish
The floor was finished with a fine slip resistant texture. This made the surface practical underfoot while remaining ideal for routine cleaning with scrubber dryer machines.
Fast-turnaround project management
The full project was managed by Elgood Industrial Flooring to meet a critical deadline. Work commenced within a week of the order being placed, and the complete preparation, remedial and coating programme was completed within fifteen days.
