With over 40 years experience and over 130 studio installations across the UK and in Ireland, it is more than likely that you have seen our television studio floors in use on BBC, ITV, Sky, BT Sport, IMG Media, Pinewood, Sky and YouTube.

We are proud of our reputation in the broadcasting industry and of being able to meet the high standard demanded for camera tracking.

Since our first resin studio floor installation in the 1970’s, we’ve become known as the go-to company for television and broadcasting floors in the UK. This is due to our purposely designed Elgood Television Studio Floor System and retaining an expert in-house team specifically trained in the installation of Television Studio Floors.

Our studio floors are laid to tolerances tolerances surpassing SR1.  SR1 is not suitable for a television studio floor. The flatness of the floor and a uniform finish are critical to camera tracking. Both have a huge impact on how much can be produced in a days filming. Please see www.televisionstudiofloors.co.uk

The Elgood Studio Floor System has been adopted by an unprecedented 25+ companies and is widely in service today throughout broadcasting.

THE ELGOOD STUDIO FLOOR SYSTEM

  1. Designed, manufactured and installed by Elgood Industrial Ltd.
  2. The design, materials and workmanship are guaranteed for 10 years.
  3. Static and dynamic camera pedestal performance guaranteed.

INSTALLATION

The studio floor should be installed as part of the technical fit out of the studios.

We are usually directly employed by the client.

The floor installation requires clean, controlled conditions, and is a clean process in itself.

We do not undertake studio floor installations as a subcontractor to a main contractor.

SUB FLOOR REQUIREMENTS

The Elgood Studio floor is 30mm thick and laid directly to the structural concrete slab.

The concrete slab should be placed at a datum of minus 30mm to the required finished floor level.

The concrete should be laid to a tolerance of +/- 6mm of the minus 30mm datum.

The concrete should have a power floated finish, as if it were to be the finished floor.

The slab design should avoid the use of expansion joints, as these cannot be taken through the studio floor surface.

INSTALLATION DURATION

Approximately 3 weeks for each studio.
