To replace the old floor with the specification that we laid in 2017 when we refurbished an adjacent production cell.
Given the proven success of the 2017 installation, the client could be confident that the new floor would meet their requirements.
The area was in the middle of the factory and had to be tented.
A 2m wide 100mm – 10mm ramp had to be formed between areas. This ran for 18 m.
The installation had to be carried out with minimal disruption to operations.

Preparation
The floor was uneven and breaking away in places.
A road planing machine was used to remove the floor and to key the concrete. This also helped to reduce undulations in the slab.
Shot blasting was used to clean and key the concrete after planing. Both operations were carried out over a weekend.

Industrial strength rapid drying resurfacing screed with an average thickness of 8mm.
Ramp 100mm – 10mm
Rapid Drying pre blended screed to form the ramp. The factory was running during the installation and using a pre blended mix meant that we could use a forced action mixer rather than a sand cement screed pump.
Industrial Floor Coating
The floor was finished with our Britdura 750 Solvent Free Epoxy Floor Coating in the colour Dusty Grey with a fine slip resistant texture.

The preparation was carried out over a weekend within tented environment. The installation had a duration of seven days
