Completion date:June 2003 Condition of FloorNew power floated concrete floor. Installation ProgrammeA five day installation was required to install the floor whilst working alongside other contractors. Cummins SelectedCummins Diesel independently chose Elgood Industrial Flooring to work in their newly acquired unit in Iver. The flooring formed part of the fit out for a relocation and upgrade programme that Cummins had undertaken to improve customer service. Cummins RequiredA hard wearing floor coating to withstand bus and other large vehicular traffic. It was important that the floor was easy to clean and maintain. A coarse slip resistant strip extending from the threshold of the roller shutter doors to five metres inside of the building. The coarse grade was specified to assist in controlling the transfer of water from tyres into the service areas and to help avoid slipping. Additionally, a bright contrasting colour was requested to designate fire escape routes and door ways. PreparationLight shotblasting was used to provide a physical key for the floor coating. An upright diamond grinding machine was used to prepare the floor at wall edges. The Chosen FloorThe Britdura 750 solvent free Epoxy floor coating was manufactured and installed by Elgood Industrial Flooring Ltd. The overall finish had a fine slip resistant texture. The colours used were our Light Grey 10 and Bright Red. Permanent Epoxy Yellow lines and text were laid to an agreed plan. |
