Elgood have manufactured and installed television studio floors for more than 40 years.

Over the last 25 years the Elgood Studio Floor System has established itself as the first choice for Television Broadcasting and has been adopted by an unprecedented 25+ companies. The system is in service throughout the BBC, BSkyB, Granada, ITN and top Broadcasting Colleges.

The Elgood Studio Floor is the only floor that meets the strict BBC Camera Test.

The BBC use the Elgood System in all 9 major studios at Television Centre and 5 studios at Elstree including the main Eastenders production facility where daily production is increased by the performance of the floor. Similarly, Granada use the Elgood System for the 20,000 sq ft Coronation Street Studios.

In 2007 the Elgood System was used in all the studios at BBC Pacific Quay in Glasgow, the largest new television facility to be constructed for more than 30 years.

Versatility

The Elgood System is proven in the largest production studios but serves equally well in small presentation studios. Recently the system has been found to be ideal for use by studios pioneering High Definition Television.

The floor is supplied with a static dissipative finish as standard.

Working Floor

The floor is compatible with Bollom, Bristol, Myland and Rosco Studio Floor Paints. Peelable / self-adhesive layers can also be applied before painting.

The floor can be mechanically washed on a regular basis.

Elgood manufacture the entire system in modern production facilities based in the UK.

Installation

The high performance specification demanded in a modern television studio requires an experienced installation team. Elgood have maintained such an 'in house' team over the last 25 years. It has been in this way that the company has vigorously maintained such high standards and has resulted in the continuous improvement of the Elgood Studio Floor System.

Life Expectancy

There are numerous examples at the BBC, The London Studios where the System is still providing good service after 10, 15 and 20 years.

The combination of minimal maintenance and an extended working life keeps running costs and disruption to a minimum.
