Condition of Floors

A 2000 square metre new power floated concrete floor.

Installation Programme

The installation was completed in four days.

Hartridge selected

Elgood Industrial Flooring's Britdura 750 Solvent Free Highbuild Epoxy Floor Coating. The floor was selected from a number of alternatives offered by competitors.

Hartridge required

A hard wearing floor coating to meet the demands of the work place and a high standard of appearance to compliment the fit out at the newly built facility in Buckingham.

Special Requirements

Hartridge were very concerned that the new floor should create a particular impression and as such considered the choice of colour to be of upmost importance.

Elgood were able to offer Hartridge a choice of colours from outside of the stock range. Using a Ral colour card, Hartridge selected five colours that appealed to them. As part of the pre-installation service, Elgood manufactured samples of each colour for Hartridge to assess. The colour Green Beige Ral 1000 was selected.

Preparation

Dust free shotblasting was used to lightly key the concrete and diamond grinding was used to prepare edges.

The specified floor

The Britdura 750 Highbuild Solvent Free Epoxy Floor Coating which is applied by trowel. With very light colours low opacity can be a problem. To ensure good opacity, three coloured coats were applied instead of the normal specification of a clear primer coat and two coloured coats.

The floor was given a fine slip resistant finish.

After Service

The floor was the first stage in the fit out programme. Elgood have agreed as part of the installation package, to return to site to carry out minor repairs in the event of the floor being damaged by contractors during the fit out.
