Condition of Floors

Existing concrete floors with a weak surface.

Installation Programme

Two phases were required to minimise disruption to servicing.

Cummins Selected

Cummins Diesel chose Elgood Industrial Flooring following a successful installation at their Iver depot. The floor was being upgraded as part of an investment programme in Cummin's properties and to improve house keeping.

Cummins Required

A hard wearing floor coating to withstand bus and other large vehicular traffic.

Preparation

Light shotblasting was used to provide a physical key for the floor coating. An upright diamond grinding machine was used to prepare the floor at wall edges. Pinnacles on the profile of the concrete were reduced by diamond grinding.

The Chosen Floor

The Britdura 750 solvent free Epoxy floor coating was manufactured and installed by Elgood Industrial Flooring Ltd. It was important that the floor was easy to clean and the Thurrock Cummins depot specified a smooth floor with a light dimple finish.
