Completion date:1,000 square metres, completed to schedule in May 2005. Condition of FloorsA new power floated concrete which had been laid for only 28 days. Installation ProgrammeThe preparation and installation were completed to schedule in four days by Elgood Industrial Flooring Ltd. Severn Engineering selectedThe Britdura 750 Highbuild Solvent Free Epoxy Floor Coating. Severn Engineering requiredSevern Engineering were consolidating from two smaller units into one new larger unit and considered the floor integral to creating the correct image for their new facility where they refurbish laser cutting machines. To Severn it was also important that the floor met their performance demands by being suitably hard wearing to withstand their manufacturing use and fork lift traffic as well as to lift the presentation of the facility. The Highbuild Coating is comprised of a low viscosity Solvent Free Epoxy primer and two coloured coats of our Britdura Solvent Free Epoxy Floor Coating. All three coats were applied by trowel. The low viscosity primer is ideal for use on new concrete due to its moisture resistant properties but is equally effective for treating an old and worn concrete. PreparationShotblasting was used to provide a light physical key with diamond grinding used to prepare the edges along walls. The specified floorThe Britdura 750 Highbuild Epoxy Floor Coating (750 microns to 1 mm) was laid in the colours Slate Grey and French Blue. Yellow lines were installed to highlight the gangway. The floor was given a fine slip resistant finish. |
