Condition of Floors

Concrete floors coated with our Britdura Epoxy Floor Coating. The facility had been used to manufacture rubber components for the automotive industry.

Installation Programme

The cleaning of the floor and installation of the 2,000 square metre facility was completed within four days in time for the hand over.

Codan have been a long standing customer of Elgood Industrial Flooring and in December 2003, it was decided that their British Operation was to be consolidated. A refurbishment of the floors in the offices and the main shop floor was necessary in order to hand over the premises to the land lord. The Materials and Workmanship Guarantee was transferred to the land lord and the incoming tenant.

Preparation

Due to the fact that we had prepared and coated the concrete floors several years ago and had achieved a good physical bond, we did not need to use shot blasting to prepare the surface. Instead, we used driven scrubbing machines to abrade the surface and a degreasing solution to remove marks and surface contamination. (the degreasing solution is ideal for cleaning Epoxy coated floors and further information on this product can be found in the DIY section).

Our Britdura 500 Epoxy Floor Coating in the colour Dusty Blue with a fine slip resistant finish designed for general use.
