Completion date:October 2007 Size of floorApproximately 770 square metres. Condition of floorThe concrete had very rough surface with exposed aggregate. A proportion of the floor had been covered with a weak but well bonded latex screed. The latex had to be removed to avoid compromising the performance of the new floor. RequirementsTo cost effectively resurface the concrete to extend its working life and to provide a practical industrial floor to attract the interest of potential tennants. PreparationVacuum contained shotblasting was used to clean the concrete of paint and soiling. A Multi Stripper machine was used to remove the latex with localised diamond grinding to alleviate the surface profile in isolated patches. The specified flooringOur Britdura Solvent Free DPM Epoxy Primer. Polymer Smoothing Screed Sika 5N laid to an average thickness of 5mm. The smoothing screed was sealed with our Solvent Free Britdura Highbuild Epoxy Floor Coating in the colour Dusty Blue to give a hard wearing and impressive finish. |
