Condition of Floors

An existing Elgood Television Studio Floor which had been in constant use for over 10 years. LWT asked Elgood Industrial Flooring to refurbish the operating surface of the studio floor to enhance the performance of the floor and improve the appearance of the studio.

Installation Programme

The Installation was carried out and completed to an agreed programme of works prior to and over the Christmas period.

LWT Required

The existing floor had proved a success and had been in production constantly from the day it was laid. The operating surface had become damaged in places and although still performing well, it was decided that the floor would benefit from a general refurbishment.The refurbishment involved stripping the existing operating surface and laying the new reinforced Elgood Television Studio Finish. Requirements in addition to the high performance smooth floor necessary for camera tracking, were the reinstatement of the fire lanes and Camera Grid numeral references.

A static dissipative finish was necessary for comfort and ease of use.

Preparation

The floor was stripped and abraded using a combination of machines.

The Chosen Floor

The Elgood Television Studio Floor Operating Finish. This system is designed, manufactured and installed by Elgood Industrial Flooring Ltd to meet the exacting criteria demanded by pedestal cameras.

The new operating floor included a static dissipative finish.
